    License Purchasing

    Hi Dave,

Thursday was most useful, however I would like to ask the wider SBS Community where they purchase their licenses.

Currently I use www.ideal.co.uk which has a very useful quote generator available which even calculates your mark-up and generates and end user quote.

What experiences do any of the rest of you have?

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Hi Richard,

Very good question!  I have been using Ingram Micro for quite a lot of bits but I too am curious to see who everyone elses uses.  Ingrams are OK.

I am looking for a supplier who can sell the "Windows Server System Solution for Midsize Businesses" as describerd here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/solutions/midsize/default.mspx

None of my suppliers seem to stock it.  I am trying to produce a competitive quote for an 80 user system which is a migration from a Linux system.

I was just going to quote for regular open value licences but this offer is a perfect fit for my customer.  Anyone out there have a supplier stocking the "Windows Med Biz Infra Servers" or "Windows Med Biz Infra CAL. products?

    Paulie,

If this product is hard to get hold of, that is a superb bit of feedback - I will let the right people internally know and also find out who sells it for you.

    thanks

    David

    Paulie,

the immediate answer I got back is that Softcat definately are selling this at the moment as should the other Disti's be.  Could you let me know what you asked for in terms of SKUs, word, etc and I will follow up with the nice team on how to move this forward.

    David,

Thank you for looking into it for me.  I spoke to softcat and another supplier and finally I have a quote worked out based on this SKU.

It really is an amazing value package for systems which are out of the reach of SBS.  The pricing of this product enabled me to quote well under the competition and the 3 Windows server licences give you a bit more flexibility in how you go about setting the system up.

Big thumbs up on this one :D
