Restoring NTBackups created in XP to Vista

    Hi

Has anyone successfully managed to restore file backups created with NT Backup in XP to a Vista machine?  I've tried to use the Vista restore wizard but unfortunately it only recognises backups created by Vista!

Searching the web brings up references to a "an add on tool" that will do the job - but I can't find it.  Any pointers anyone?

    Thanks
    Alastair

I have just run into the same issue.  You can workaround it though.

    If you copy...

    ntbackup.exe
    ntmsapi.dll
    vsapi.dll

From a Windows XP or 2003 system32 directory to a new folder on your Vista install (I put it in c:\program files\ntbackup) it works just fine after ignoring the initial error message.

    Hope this helps.
